Weisberg Legal donates over £1,000 to help disadvantaged women and farming communities in Mali

Local solicitors firm, Weisberg Legal, announce their recent donation of over £1,000 to support grassroots development work. The donation will go towards transforming the lives of people living in more than 200 villages, in rural Mali.

The firm and their predecessor Rosamund Coppen & Co, based in Bear Flat, Bath, have supported the Joliba Trust for a number of years and the team continue to collect money on their behalf.

“We are pleased to be able to provide funding to support the exceptional work of the Joliba Trust and will continue to champion them in the future.” pledges Kieran Weisberg, Managing Director of Weisberg Legal.

Turning dreams into realities in rural Mali

Mali is one of the poorest countries in the world with most people living from the land as farmers and cattle-herders. Over the years, it has become increasingly difficult to make a living due to desertification and climate change.

The Joliba Trust aims to help women, and local farming and cattle-raising communities develop environmental projects to sustain rural livelihoods in over 200 villages. “When you use Weisberg Legal, leave unallocated funds in your will or with our client account, you are also helping restore livelihoods and expand opportunities for those who need a chance in life.”

“We will continue to support and raise awareness of the Joliba Trust because we believe that everyone deserves access to the most basic human requirements such as clean drinking water, maternal health, and the chance to improve food security.” says Kieran. “We are also keen to support a charity where such a high proportion of the funds raised, goes directly to the people who need it most– in the case of the Joliba Trust, 95% of their funds are spent directly on field projects.”

The money donated by Weisberg Legal supports projects, such as midwifery training, improving livestock raising, water management and improving livelihoods.
